Spent 24 hours in the desert and completely fell in love. My girlfriends and I decided to go on a little adventure... Click to check out my itinerary of this out of the world place called Joshua Tree! It's only a 2 hour drive from Los Angeles!
1:00pm : Arrive at Pioneertown
We started the day exploring Pioneertown, which was an old 1940's movie set now made into a bunch of cute little shops (pottery, crystals, and souvenirs). There was also a petting zoo with baby goats and movie sets like the bath house pictured below. After walking around, we ate lunch at this amazing restaurant called "Pappy & Harriet's", the food and drinks were amazing there and they even have live bands there some nights.
3:00pm: Head to the Cholla Cactus Garden
After lunch, we headed towards the Joshua Tree National Park. *You will have to pay to get into the park, it's about $25/car* Drive down the main path, passed the Skull Rock, to the Cholla Cactus Garden where you will find tons of cute little cactus'! There are tons to do at this National Park, especially if you are into rock climbing.
3:00pm: Climb some Huge Rocks!
We decided to stop on the side of the road to go to some huge rocks to take some pictures. They were amazing! Seriously felt like we were on Mars.
4:00pm: Go to our Airbnb.
It was time to check into our Airbnb, which was called the "Bunny Bunker". It was an amazing glamping spot, it had beds and a fire heater. The electricity was run on solar power and they had fun art and coloring books in the bunker. They even had a fully operating bathroom. Click the Airbnb link below to check it out or even rent it out yourself next time! *Highly recommended*
11:00am (Next Morning): take some pictures around our Airbnb!
Our Airbnb came with two bikes which were available to use. We found a vintage RV to take pictures in front of! There was also a wooden stage, some fun art structures and tons of cute little things to check out.
12:00pm: Head to the World Famous Crochet Museum.
Joshua Tree is full of quirky, weird, yet awesome things and the Crochet Museum was one of them. This little museum was filled with crochet animals, fruit, pastries, and anything else you can think of- it was made with crochet. *The items are not for sale*
1:00pm: Eat Breakfast and Head back to Los Angeles.
We were starving after all the exploring so we ate at the Crossroads Cafe and did some vintage store shopping before heading back to Los Angeles.
Love,
Laura C.
