Hot Tub Boats

THE MOST UNDERRATED SOCIAL DISTANCING ACTIVITY EVER. If you are looking for a unique social distancing activity that is out on the water this summer/fall, HOT TUB BOATS IS IT! Located on Union Lake in Seattle, they are a premier boat rental that allows you to enjoy the Seattle skyline and Gas Works Park all from the comfort of a hot tub! Keep reading to check out my itinerary and a discount code for your next Hot Tub Boat experience!!

WHERE TO STAY:

The State Hotel is a downtown Seattle boutique hotel, it's located just steps from Pike Place Market and the Seattle waterfront. I absolutely loved the aesthetics of this hotel, from the decor, to the furniture, to the robes! Let's be real, I saw these robes on the website and had to book this hotel just for the robes! I definitely bought one! (In case you are wondering they are $90 each and they sell them in the lobby along with other merchandise). The staff at the hotel was super friendly and they have a restaurant called Ben Paris in the lobby but it was closed for dine in during COVID-19.

Another amazing amenity of The State Hotel is the rooftop! By being a guest of the hotel, you get 24/7 access to the rooftop which has an epic view of Pike Place Market and the other side is a view of the city. Usually, there is a rooftop bar open but because of COVID-19, it was closed. It's still awesome to just bring your own drinks up and enjoy the view! Make sure to check it out during the day and night!

WHERE TO EAT:

The Pink Door has always been on my Seattle foodie list and I never had a chance to eat there! So I was super excited to try and squeeze this in the trip. It's a hidden unlabeled pink door in Post Alley near Pike Place Market, once you find it, it's an awesome Italian restaurant with burlesque shows and trapeze acts with a rooftop view of Eliiott Bay. During COVID-19, they offer outdoor seating on their rooftop! The food and the drinks are amazing, their seafood is also fresh and local. Some of my favorite dishes were the Summer Risotto (risotto with Dungeness crab) and the Linguine Alle Vongole (baby clam and white wine linguine), you can check out their dine-in menu here. If you want to dine in, make sure to make a reservation on OpenTable!

HOT TUB BOATS:

Onto the most fun activity I've had all summer: The Hot Tub Boats. Located on Lake Union, there are 2 boats available and with a max capacity of 6 people per boat. They are available every day of the week in 2, 3, or 4 hour time slots! All you need is a valid driver's license to rent too. There is a joystick for steering, a bluetooth speaker, and a storage space for food and drinks, you can even add epsom salt to your soak! The rates are 2 hours for $350 and any additional hour is $100!

If you are wondering if it's safe to be on a hot tub boat right now during a pandemic, rest assured because they have taken extra safety procedures during this time. They change the water after each rental, the boat is scrubbed and disinfected after each use, and there are reduced rental times so that there are no two groups overlapping. I felt completely safe on board and the boat was super clean!

Not only can you get a view of the Seattle Skyline but you can also get pretty close to Gas Works Park which was a location in the movie "10 Things I Hate About You" (RIP Heath Ledger). Did you know most of that movie was filmed in the Seattle area?! With most of the school scenes shot at Stadium High School in Tacoma!

Overall, this was such an awesome experience and I would definitely do this again! There was such good vibes out on the water as you pass other boats, everyone was really friendly and the hob tub boat was definitely a hit! The water in the tub was warm so it's great for any weather, rain or shine!
