Cabo San Lucas

I recently went to "Kygo's Palm Tree Festival" in Cabo San Lucas thrown by Pollen and it was EPIC! It was my first time in Cabo and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it! I've always thought of Cabo as some party town (which it is), but beyond that it was gorgeous, relaxing, safe, and the food was great! Keep reading to check out my itinerary on where to stay, what to do, where to eat, and where to party.

Where to Stay:

Riu Palace

The Riu Palace was one of the hotels you can choose part of the music festival hotel packages. It was listed as a luxury hotel with all inclusive included and ocean view rooms. The Riu Palace is part of a resort with Riu Sante Fe and Riu Baja California, all of which you can visit and have access to. The Riu Palace was huge with many pools, Medano beach access, buffets, restaurants, and plenty of bars. The rooms included bottles of alcohol in the mini bar, huge king bed, and an insane view off the balcony. It was my first time doing an all inclusive hotel and I must say the food and drinks did not disappoint! The hotel was awesome and was about a 10-15 min drive from downtown and there were free shuttles that took you to the music festival venue too! What I liked most was it was far enough from the craziness of downtown to really feel like you were on a resort vacation. Would highly recommend staying here!

What to Do:

Kygo's Palm Tree Music Festival

The whole reason why I went to Cabo was for Kygo's Palm Tree Music Festival thrown by the Pollen group. It was my first Pollen event and it was amazing! They really know how to throw an organized and epic festival, not to mention the line up was perfect! Tropical house for the win. Not only was there great music, but they made sure to include activities like a Mezcal tasting, boat parties, party brunches, even golf tournaments with the DJ's. It was so much fun and I will definitely attend another Pollen event!

Sunset Sail on the Tu Enamorado

One of my favorite activities in Cabo was sunset sailing on the Tu Enamorado yacht! It was a 2.5 hour cruise around the sea of Cortez and it takes you to see the Arch of Cabo and other pretty rock formations. You walk barefoot on the deck and chill while you watch the sunset. There are mixologist drinks included, charcuterie, dinner, and dessert. Not to mention the music on this boat was immaculate! There is also a photographer that takes your photos on the yacht, they really thought of everything. It was such an amazing experience and really made the trip. Highly recommend taking the Tu Enamorado sunset sail cruise!

Ride a Jetski with Aries

Another activity that's a must is jet-skiing off Medano beach with Aries Watersports! You can find different companies to jetski with but I went with the hotel recommended company called Aries. It was about $120 for an hour and it was well worth it. NOTE: You are able to jetski around the coast but not to the Arch of Cabo or Lover's Beach. Aries also offers other watersport activities like parasailing, whale watching, glass bottom boat rides, and snorkeling.

Where to Eat:

The Office on The Beach

The Office on the Beach was a restaurant located beachfront where you sit with your toes in the sand. It was a popular lively spot for drinks and seafood. Order the fried red snapper and lobster, it was really good. It was a bit pricey compared to other restaurants around Cabo but it was quality seafood so it was worth it.

La Lupita Tacos and Mezcal

My cousin suggested La Lupita Tacos and Mezcal and it was so tasty! This open air restaurant had two of my favorite things, tacos and mezcal as well as live music! The menu is very taco focused, definitely order the pastor, braised beef, and short rib. Make sure to do the mezcal tasting too! I also loved all of the sauces. Can't go wrong!

Taboo Beach Club and Restaurant

The Taboo Beach Club and Restaurant was located at the ME Cabo Hotel pool which is where the music festival main stage was at. It was awesome to eat sit stageside, watching the DJ's perform while eating dinner. The vibes were on point, it reminded me a lot of Bali! I loved the restaurant ambiance and decor.

Where to Party:

Squid Roe

If you didn't party at Squid Roe, did you even go to Cabo? Kidding. But this was an infamous spot that I've heard of for years and finally got to visit. It's a 3 story club with a stage in the middle of the club and 6 full bars. It was super lively and fun, not to mention the drinks were super cheap and strong!

Overall, my first experience in Cabo San Lucas was amazing and there is so much to do! I only stayed for 5 days and could've easily stayed longer to visit Cabo San Jose next time. I also would've loved to visit Lover's Beach as well! I will definitely be back to Cabo, it was a perfect mix of relaxing and partying. The perfect vacation!
