Watching a show at the Red Rocks Amphitheater has always been on my bucket list. When I saw Zhu was playing at the end of October, I knew I had to be there. I have never been to Colorado before so I decided to make a trip out of it. Keep reading to see what my weekend in Colorado looked like.
Thursday:
Land and check into the Boulder Marriott Hotel. The view off the hotel balcony was just amazing! The rooms are studio-like and everything is super modern. The hotel itself is centrally located to everything and is a short drive to some amazing hikes! The staff was so friendly and helpful, I was talking with the hotel lobby bartender and he gave me some insight on how to get to the Red Rocks Amphitheater from Boulder (you can either Uber/Lyft or get tickets on the Bus to Show, a bus that picks you up from the hotel and takes you directly there and back). There's also free breakfast and the food is amazing!
We ate at a local restaurant called Shine, walking distance to the Boulder Marriott Hotel.
Friday:
Hiking at Flagstaff Mountain. Drive up the mountain and take the hike! The views are incredible. It was such high altitude that I lost my breath!
Zhu show at the Red Rocks Amphitheater. One word: EPIC. The sound was amazing and the venue was like nothing I have ever seen. It was a mix of nature and music, you could even see the stars during the show. I officially want to see a show here once a year now.
Saturday:
Hike at the Chautauqua Park. This was my favorite part of the hike. The beginning. I am from California/Oregon and I am not used to seeing such beautiful open fields like this. It really reminded me of that scene in Gladiator. I suggest going at sunset, right when the sun is going down everything just glows and is so vibrant.
Sunday:
Colorado is such unique place, this was a random field we stopped at on the 93 highway on the way to the airport. We walked a few steps and a bunch of cows just hanging out.
